THE Gundog Trainer is based in Sussex in South East England  and runs training classes for gundogs  of ALL BREEDS and ALL TYPES, Labradors, Retrievers, Spaniels, Pointers and Hunt Point Retrievers (HPRs). Kent and Surrey are in easy reach and THE Gundog Trainer can help and advise you with all aspects of the selection and training of your gundog. THE Gundog Trainer trains pet dogs as well as working dogs. If a dog is capable of being trained, I will train it.

THE Gundog Trainer is a full time professional trainer and has been training Gundogs for over 20 years. The Gundog Trainer trains dogs from puppy right though to Open Field Trial standard. THE Gundog Trainer can and does train complete newcomers as well as experienced handlers and owners. THE Gundog Trainer will take on what others are afraid to attempt or lack the ability to deliver. Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Home Counties

THE Gundog Trainer:- Expectations of Training Results

THE Gundog Trainer believes that if you follow our training, our advice, our methods and do your homework, you can at the very least expect that your puppy or young dog will :-

 

                      Heel

                      Sit

                      Stay

                      Recall ( i.e. come to you when required ).

                     

                      and you will begin to develop an understanding of :- Eye contact

                                                                                                               Body language

                                                                                                               Use of voice 

 

If you progress beyond basic training, you can also expect that your dog will :-

 

                      Retrieve dummies to hand

                      Enter water when directed ( swim )

                      Be capable of being sent back, left and right and stopped at distance by a combination of          

                      whistle and hand signals.

 

If you progress into advanced training, you can also expect that your dog will :-

 

                       Retrieve game to hand

                       Be capable of being handled in water

                       Jump obstacles at distance on command 

                       Be capable of being handled silently at distance with hand signals only

 

If you have a Spaniel or HPR, you can also expect that your dog will quarter and hunt a good pattern with complexity increasing with experience.  

 

                       If you follow our advice and our training methods, you can also expect to enter Gundog Working Tests and Field Trials and WIN or be highly placed.
